We will be running a limited series of hands-on workshops in conjunction with the Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre during February. These workshops will focus you producing a Ceramic Photograph, with a theme of “I AM…(Blacktown)” and will be held at Blacktown Arts Centre. This will culminate in March with a display of the finished Ceramic Photographs, prior to you taking your finished work home.

We are seeking images or text and if possible the stories behind them that evoke memories of the Blacktown area. What makes you think about Blacktown? What is your local historical narrative? What makes you think that “I’m home”?  (As in back in the Blacktown area). When you think about Blacktown, what image comes to mind? Here is your opportunity to have your memories of this unique city immortalised as a permanent work of art.

During the workshop you will produce your own Ceramic Photograph on a 400mm x 250mm ceramic tile. This can either be left in sepia tone or can be further embellished by hand painting with onglaze enamels, to give the image a colourised appearance.

The workshops will consist of 2 x 1 ½ hour sessions, over 2 weeks and includes all materials and costs.

Cost: $30.00/$25.00 concession.

As there are limited spaces available contact Blacktown Arts Centre for full details                         (9839 6558 Naomi.Hamer@blacktown.nsw.gov.au ).
